The Critics’ Choice Awards: A Tough Act to Follow After the Golden Globes

Angelina-Jolie
After witnessing nearly everyone wearing black to support the Time’s Up initiative at the Golden Globes, we were all wondering if the movement would have such a visible presence at the Critics’ Choice Awards this past Thursday.

As it turned out, the Critics’ Choice Awards was a more toned-down affair in terms of clothing choices. While black was no longer the only color of choice for the evening, the movement was still at the forefront of everyone’s minds. Many attendees were still proudly wearing the Time’s Up pins first debuted at the Golden Globes and several addressed the issues at the core of Time’s Up movement during their appearances on stage.

Rachel Brosnahan (winner of the Best Actress in a Comedy Series award for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) even specifically addressed the all-black dress code’s disappearance during her acceptance speech. She said, "I know we're not all here in black tonight, but let's not lose focus. If you haven't already, please go to TimesUpNow.com and donate to the legal defense fund. Let's keep this going, please. Thank you so much."
