4 Hair Issues Apple Cider Vinegar Can Fix Now
If you love using natural ingredients on your hair, there is one ingredient you may have overlooked: apple cider vinegar. The idea of using vinegar on your hair may sound crazy, but this natural wonder can fix some key hair woes:

1. Scalp/Dandruff Issues
Apple cider vinegar is naturally antibacterial and antifungal, so it can soothe a dry, itchy scalp and alleviate dandruff.

2. Product Buildup/Dull Hair
With all of the products we use on our hair, it is no wonder that so many people have issues with product buildup. ACV removes product buildup and adds shine because it naturally contains acetic acid.

3. Frizz & Tangles
ACV balances the pH of your hair, which helps to smooth the hair cuticle to reduce frizz and combat tangles.

4. Thinning Hair/Hair Loss
Apple cider vinegar helps to unclog hair follicles and destroy bacteria to prevent hair loss. It has even been said that ACV works to improve circulation to your hair follicles, which in turn promotes healthy hair growth.

Making an ACV Hair Rinse

It is best to dilute ACV with water. Just mix equal parts of apple cider vinegar and water. About ½ cup of each should be an ample amount for one use. Based on your hair issues, follow the steps below after making the ACV rinse. Always apply the mixture after shampooing your hair.

For Buildup/Frizz & Tangling Issues: You can apply the mixture by either just pouring it over your hair or by using a spray bottle. Let the ACV rinse sit on your hair for a few minutes and then rinse well.  Repeat this a few times per month to keep buildup in check. Just don’t use an ACV rinse too often— as with other clarifying shampoos, it can dry out the hair.

For Scalp Issues: Apply the ACV rinse to your scalp using a spray bottle. Let the mixture sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing. Repeat once or twice a week until dandruff clears.

Also Keep in Mind
Like most vinegars, ACV has a somewhat strong smell. However, don’t let that discourage you from using it— the smell subsides once your hair dries. If you find the smell does not subside, then reduce the ratio of vinegar to water a bit.

ACV is inexpensive, so buy the best. Go for: organic, raw, unfiltered and unpasteurized apple cider vinegar. A popular brand is Bragg's, which is featured here.
