To get to the bottom of her secret, Byrdie spoke to stylist Aaron Light, who recently worked on Ariana's high pony, to find out the exact hair elastics she wears. The answer—bungee elastics, with hooks on both ends to prevent left out strands. "I love using bungees, especially on clients with thick hair, because you have more control over the hair and can achieve a very tight and secure ponytail. Regular hair bands have a tendency to slip, where bungees really stay put at the base," he says.
