Aloe Vera Hair Health Benefits + More
Most of us know Aloe Vera as that soothing gel to soothe sunburned skin. Great as it is for that purpose, this “plant of immortality”, as it is called, is so much more. Because it has high levels of amino acids, minerals and vitamins, aloe vera juice or gel has numerous uses, including for use on the hair.

Just how can it be used on hair? It can soothe a dry or itchy scalp, alleviate some of the irritation caused by hair dye, condition dry/damaged ends and add shine. Are you sold?

Here is an all-natural pre-shampoo mask for you to try courtesy of Hello Glow that will leave your hair looking great:

Just mix ½ cup aloe vera gel with 1 tablespoon coconut milk. Apply to dry hair.
If you are treating your scalp, you’ll want to concentrate application on your scalp. Massage for several minutes and then let sit for 10 minutes.
If you are more concerned with dry or damaged ends, then apply the mask to the bottom half of your hair and leave on for 20-25 minutes.
Rinse and follow with shampoo and conditioner. This mask can be used once a week for healthy, shiny hair and scalp. Also note, for increased hydration put on a shower cap to let the mask heat up.

Beyond the hair and skin, aloe vera has numerous health benefits for the body. Learn more here, including a wonderful recipe for Hydrating Aloe and Cucumber Water.
